The academy’s existing refill points were frequently out of service. Swan-neck taps regularly snapped, creating ongoing maintenance and hygiene concerns and limiting access to drinking water.
The school needed a robust replacement that could cope with everyday student use and reduce disruption caused by broken equipment. It also wanted to make reusable bottles easier to refill and provide a more accessible hydration solution.
After consultation and a site survey, we specified Elkay EZH2O bottle filling stations with single refrigerated drinking fountains, model LMABF8WSS2KN. Combining touch-free bottle filling with a fountain mouthpiece gives users the choice of refilling a bottle or drinking directly from the fountain.
The wall-mounted stainless-steel units provide filtered, chilled water and include bottle counters for monitoring use. Their robust design addressed the practical demands of the academy while improving the appearance of its drinking-water facilities.
Our installation team adapted the existing water and waste connections to suit the new equipment. We also stabilised and reinforced the supporting wall, redesigning the service layout to deliver a secure installation. Water Refill Group managed product specification, supply and installation, with service and maintenance included in the support provided.
The academy reports improved drinking-water access and reliability, with increased use of the new facilities by students and staff. The bottle fillers make it easier to refill reusable bottles, supporting the school’s efforts to reduce single-use plastic waste.
The school also reports lower maintenance demands, helping reduce the disruption associated with its previous broken taps. With both bottle filling and direct drinking available, the new stations provide a more practical hydration solution for daily school life.
